Is this statement true about music?

Music from the past is music, music from the future is music, and music from the future is still music, even though they may be different styles.

Is this statement true about music?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

true definitely

Is this statement true about music?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

very true.
I don't know, I may get a few thumbs-down for this answer, but I'm not sure if rap is music.
Music from the future doesn't exist yet.
true

Music and Races?

How come, when most people hear the phrase "rap music" they always assumes its a black person, or when somebody hears "rock music" somebody always assumes its a white person, i know plenty of black people that play rock music, The band "living colour" is only black people. The singer of Sevendust is black, the singer of Killswitch Engage is black, and of course, there are white rappers, the most popular being eminem, there is RUN DMC, and im sure there are others.

Music and Races?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

Its a stereotype, I mean of course most rappers are black, and the majority of white people not black people listen to rock music. I mean I'm hispanic, and I listen to everything, but rap is one of my favorites, it just depends, people will just stereotype because whites and blacks fall into thoe separate categories most of the time.

Music and Races?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

I love rock but i also listen to rap....

sabrina rock orinated from Blacks....don't get it twisted...

it's always good to learn something new
Who cares?

Edit:

Who cares about the thumbs downs? You have no lives.
Are you saying members of RUN DMC are white? Perhaps you mean the Beastie Boys.

I hate rap, but even I know that.
dude b cuz it is generally true!!!

Most black ppl listen to rap and r%26amp;b and the majority of white ppl like country and rock

Who r u kidding? We all know its true!!!!
i suppose its the majority.

but who cares?

i care as much about rap

as i do about mustard sardines =]
When I saw run dmc I was like wtf, but luckily you went and saw that and tried to fix it, you could of said the lead singer of rage against the machiene HE RAPS

and thats just how the majority is when someone says Chinease you think Karate and Dragons, when someone says Jewish you think of Haunakkah and Coins, when someone says Lesbian you think of that one South Park episode *wink wink* , there are stereotypes to everything...
Whoever said "rap" was music?
I think it's because Rap originated from Black people and Rock originated from White people.

Edit:

Really? @ queen_bee3. Uhm, wow. That's something new to me.

:D

Gosh, you people can stop giving me thumbs down now. I clearly said "I THINK....".

Music counting help!!!!!!!!!!?

i have been playing the cello for four years now, i can play pretty well, but tempos and rythems are my worst areas, i havent really learned how to count out music, but i can do it when im not playing, i can sometimes even do it with the metronome, but it dosent work with my brain when im playing, to me the clicks of the metronome are no help i cant ever keep tempo, so what are some ways to learn how to count while i play and keep tempo? i graduated high school and am going to college in the fall and plan to major in music preformance and also take music education, but i dont know how well i will do if i cant count or keep tempo. what do i do???

Music counting help!!!!!!!!!!?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

Your teachers will work on this with you. Everyone has areas in which they need improvement. There are various books which stress various rhythmic patterns. There are any number of common rhythm patterns which you will see over and over again in scores. Once you see these enough, they will become second nature to you. Try breaking a beat into four parts when you count. That should help you think about the beat. Also you will probably take rhythmic dictation in one of your classes. You just need to work on that part of your performace in the same way that basketball players practice their jump shots. Good luck!

Music counting help!!!!!!!!!!?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

Ha, that's my problem too, except I've been playing the cello for about 7 years now Report It

sorry man...idk....I had problems counting with the metronome too back when I took lessons.....I usually just feel the music and dont count...but then again...im far from being "skilled" piano player...I havent played the piano in a couple of years.....and I mostly played classical stuff...which is a lot easier to count then say jazz
Don't be discouraged. There are lots of people (myself included) who have trouble sight reading. What helped me was exposure to lots of music. You will encounter new rythyms all the time but eventually you will encounter similar ones. That way you can learn to recognize how certain rythyms sound and little variations will be no trouble. Learn to always subdivide the music in your head, as in think: one-and-two-and-.... or one-e-and-a-two-e-and-a-...

To keep tempo start tapping your foot or use some other method to keep a steady beat. You can even bob your head (not to much though) to keep the beat.

Good Luck!
I always found it helps if you sing it out loud first. My teacher told me to march while playing because it helps keep a steady beat. but i'm not skilled enough to walk and play at the same time. haha. another thing you should try are duets. they are really good for keeping beats because normally one person keeps it while the other person plays melody. It really helped me out. just keep working on it. and listen to the person who wrote above me. she had some really good advice.
What I do with my students who have a hard time counting as they play is have them go thru the whole piece and write the counts above the music with a pencil. once you have played thru several times, erase the marks and try it out...
The two things I do (I'm a violist and violinist) are:

1) Mark the beats lightly with pencil - slash marks through the notes or rests that are on the beat, and;

2) Play it with a metronome VERY slowly.

I have to do this whenever I work on a new piece of music, particularly contemporary music. Sometimes, even Bach, Mozart or Beethoven will have rhythmic curve balls!

And as others have mentioned, practice singing the part, or just saying "dah, dah-dah... dah dah" with the rhythm, without trying to also do the notes.

Good luck!

-Karl
I had that same issue when I was in high school and played clarinet, I also had that issue beginning college as a voice major. What helped me a lot was conducting class. Learning how to conduct with a metronome helped me tremendously to keep a steady tempo. The other class that helped me a lot with that was keyboarding. Learning how to play the piano will help too!

Good luck!
Here's your problem. Your playing ability far exceeds your ability to count and play. You can't expect your counting ability to just immediately catch up. Get some much easier music and practice it while counting the rhythms as you play. As a string player you can even vocalize it while your playing. Hard at first, but with persistance you'll get better and gradually increase your rhythmic reading to the place your performance is at today. Trying to apply counting to what your playing now will only result in frustration.

Band Director 20+ yrs.
hey, don't give up! i have also had problems with couting, but what helps me is to write the counting in your music (i.e., one-e-and-a, two-e-and-a...), and that way you will see it AS you play your music. that way you won't have to worry about trying to think about the couting AND play the right notes at the same time, and it will become more like one task. if that doesn't work, you could try putting your cello down and just clapping out the rythms, because then you will have a better sense of how it goes in your head, without having to worry about the notes while you're getting the rythm down. hope this helps!
I"ve had that same problem for years, what my piano teacher does is have me clap the rythmns first and then try to play them. If it helps you can also put the number of beats on your music. To play with a metronome first go slow and keep trying, eventually you will get it.
I've had some pupils with counting problems and I found the best thing was stepping out the notes (as in Dalcroze Eurythmics). For a quarter note take a simple step, for eighth notes take running steps, for a half note a giant step, and so on. Do this where no one is watching!

The bigger the muscle group you involve (walking involves your biggest muscles), the better you grasp and remember a rhythm.

You can also train yourself to distinguish the beat from the melody by humming to yourself a song you know by heart (since childhood), while tapping a regular beat on a table with a finger. Do it many times, until the beat is easy and reliable, and does not simply copy the actual notes of the song.

Then work out in your head how the rhythm should be written, and finally write it all down (disregard the pitches).

By coming at it from the other side like this, you really can solve the problem completely.

How can i transfer music to N73 straight to music menu?

actually i transfered music from pc-suit (transfer music or messages, copy and paste in memory card) but the problem is that the songs didnt come to music menu i should play them in Gallery and then tracks! also there are 2 from which of the songs and if i delete one of them the other one wont play!

and i cant make playlist........i want to have 2 file of musics that contains all of my songs in it what should i do?????????!

How can i transfer music to N73 straight to music menu?

when you put new songs

go to music menu

options

refresh music list

then it will add all the songs.

and the two files when you receive a message that has a song play it then go options:save.

then you will be able to play one and delete the one in the messages.

Me %26amp; my fiance are getting married in Mexico and having a reception back in London but would love some music ideas or traditions that we could incorporate for both.

What happened to rock music? GOOD ROCK MUSIC?!?

What the hell happened to songs we could enjoy? What happened Zeppelin? Priest? Metallica? Megadeth? Pantera? DAMAGEPLAN! What the hell happened to music that didn't involve self mutilation, suicide, gangstas (wanksta bastards) or wearing enough bling to blind someone?

First of all, I know rock music is out there. But, it's just...it's not the freaking same. Rock was something that had value. Actual values in music. Modern day rock, rap and that pop crap, it's all the freaking same. It's all the freaking same: you have the emo bands, you have the wanksta rappers, you have the pop artists that think they're good when monkey suicide sounds better then anything they could put out, the nu metal bands that think they're good because they can sing like Cookie Monster if he was high on cocaine after taking a series of depressants and beating his ex-wife. It's all the same, and it all sucks.

Rock music was great in the 70's through 90's (90's gave away to rap and pop). You had the bands that

Music piracy?

hey guys.

im doing a poll for my business studies class and i was wondering... what do you think about 1. downloading music for free or little money or 2. music piracy (downloading music and selling it for yourself) ???? tell me your honest opinions, it'll help.

thanks a billion!

Music piracy?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

1. There is nothing wrong with it. I don't want to pay lots of money for music. My brother (who taught me to download music illegally) told me that if you have an I-pod, you have to pay to download your music from Itunes, or you can do it for free and spend hours converting your music into the right format. Therefore, it is better not to get an I-Pod, because without one you can save money. =]

2. No. Thats wrong. Like, it's okay to download music, and give it to your friends, I exchange music with everyone in my family, and most of my friends, but I would never try to make a profit off of it. That moves from the 'ok' category to the 'yeah...thats how you get in trouble, dumbass' category.

Music piracy?

it's illegal and therefore wrong

Opinons on Music...?

Already asked this but I'll ask it again...so here it goes!

Billboard named Daughtry's self-titled album as the most popular of the year. The album sold 3.2 million copies. Akon sold 2.7, Fergie sold 2.4, Hannah Montana sold 2.5 and Carrie Underwood sold 2.3.

Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" was the #1 single followed by Rihanna's "Umbrella," Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape," Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" and T-Pain's "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')."

Well what I'm trying to get at is that most music sucks these days. I'm only 16 and can tell the decline of music, seeing that I'm a huge fan of different generation's music. Where are all the good Artists these days? With people like Souljah Boy and others, it makes you wonder, can I too become a "musican"? Seeing that even I have more talent than alot of them.

Anyways, what are y'all's(Texan!) opinions on today's music?

Opinons on Music...?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

I know most of, maybe 80% of what's on the radio is pure crap. But you may just have to search a bit harder and more underground to find something decent.

Opinons on Music...?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

I hate all the crap on the radio, mtv, and vh1.It's crap all my friends listen to that ****.It's like WTF.If you want to hear that stuff hell pay me 20 bucks and I'll do for you.It makes me how is going to be for children in 20 years.Think back what we use to listen to when we were younger(backstreet boys, all that other stuff)
Yeah it has been better.
being a Texan, u should know all the GOOD music is on country radio, at least u can understand it.
I see very much what you're getting at.

As a DJ I'm constantly playing stuff like "Crank Dat", which has NO lyrical value and consists of what, perhaps 2 lines of music??? More will follow... I want to verify that.

3 notes on a steel drum repeated endlessly. They get real funky at the end going to a 7 note run! WHOO-HOO.

Monotonous, non-singing. Vocally sounds like it was recorded using a Mr. Micophone with a blown coil.

Much of hard rock has gone by the wayside with bitter, growling incomprehensible lyrics.

Some hip hop artists have taken to sampling liberally from children's songs (eg. "Chain Hang Low")

Still, if it sells it sells. It simply doesn't speak well for the imagination or intelligence of the buyer, IMHO.
I think that most of the music that is played on the radio was probably written by retards(Soulja Boy) and we can only hope that most of them will be killed in drive by shootings, or die of alcohol poisoning from drinking too much Hennessy, ahh we could only be so lucky...but i am sure that none of that will happen and we will have to hear more songs about how women are nothing but invaluable sex toys, and that drugs, cognac, and money are the only things that matter in life. But all in all they can sing about whatever they want, because the battery in my car will last a lot longer now that i dont listen to the radio anymore.
I totally agree, the "music" on the radio is just rubbish....itnt music supposed to tell a story or show you what the artist is feeling, hardly any music these days is like that.....for instance Rhianna - unbrella it has no point she just says unbrella over and over again....i dont think that is music at all i think it is junk!

Have you got any good recomendations for me - I like country music....
i agree with you soooooo much!!!!!! i mean, c'mon, half these people are crackheads singin bout havin sex while on drugs and all tht crap! its soo annoying, and while people pass in thier cars as i'm outside of Walmart with thier radio BLASTING thinkin thier cool by havin rap you CANT UNDERSTAND!!!!!!! we need better music, and seriously...this music is getting nowhere! i'm soooo with you, and i'm texan too, so i love usin' tht slang (eg. singin, bout, havin) if u havent noticed, i like country though....very few songs though....i wish there was more selection in the world. thanks for answering my question though, so i am returning the favor.

i know for a fact that limewire is illegal and i think morpheus is too, but i'm not sure about that one. i use rhapsody which is legal and... yea i havnt heard of the rest.

napster is another good one that is legal. itunes is good but i think u need and ipod for that.
I would suggest limewire.. i'm not exactly sure if its legal..but my brother uses it all the time and it works great!
They all are legal because companies cannot sue you personally for sharing. Limewire is by far the best and and virus free. You have to download this program. Here's some tips on how to get your computer fast for downloading music (I use this and stand by it personally).

First, download the basic free version. You don't have the turbo speed downloads with this one, but hold on you will. Then search for Limewire Pro and download that. This is how you get the full version for free. You will be able to download a turbo speeds.

Second, you need to pay attention to the numbers next to where you search. This indicates the number of users sharing the file. The more users you download from, the faster.

Third, you need to tweak your internet connection. I have a nifty program that will increase your speed online not only with Limewire, but on regular downloads from internet explorer. It's called Speedguide.net TCP Optimizer. This will optimize your Receive Window for your computer allowing you to get faster streams. Download this from the link and run it. Be sure to select Optimal Setting and apply. This will increase the download speed.

My favorite song right now is between To Be Loved by Papa Roach and My Love by Justin Timberlake.

What is wrong with music now???

I love to leason to old music my parents use to leason to when they were teenagers. I love to hear Donna Summers, Frankie Avalon, The Beatles, and so much more. I like rock music now but i am more into oldies. and now all the songs i hear is about haveing s** with a person, or how big her chest is and other stuff like that. I hate that kind of music, why can't we go back to music that you never get tired of and music that you can dance too???

What is wrong with music now???

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

i agree....rap has such a huge impact on the way people think now there are like 11 and 12 years having s** because they think it's cool and it's not

Great Question

What is wrong with music now???

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

Give this young lady a gold medal!!!!! You are so correct. If the music isn't about sex, its about killing, or another awful facet of life. Bring back the King and all the music that made people feel good instead of doing society wrong!!! You rock!!!
You should try Christina Aguilera's new CD Back to Basics.

It is just that.

She went back, way back... and although they have up-to-date lyrics... the music sounds the same! Try it!
that kind of music still exists, but not on mainstream radio. try looking for music in places other than the top 40 billboard charts.

there's a whole other world of good music out there, you just have to seek it out.
great question. I grew up listening to chubby checker, the beatles, beach boys all that as well as alice cooper and floyd. I love listening to the oldies, you CAN REALLY hear the music not the nice fake stuff they smooth over everything like they do today
There is lots of music that doesn't have any of that crap in it, it's just not on the radio. All the stuff I listen to is dance-able and totally not offensive. It's out there, you just have to be willing to go find it.
It's too bad music all you hear now is damn rap and hip hop, I even hate typing it out, but that's all there is now. I like listening to oldies from the 60's and late 50's
What about the music your grandparents listen to? Boring, right? That's what todays generation thinks, that kind of music is boring. I'm young and still love the classics, but have to admit some of the older bands are boorrring.
Because money is the problem. Or better yet, the love of money is the problem. These record people don't care whats being said as long as it sells. "Chicken Noodle Soup" is a perfect example of this. I never thought i would be the person that would just listen to old school, but i'm really getting to that point myself. Ignorance is celebrated, sexism is acceptable, talent is not rewarded. It's just sad.
This is sooo true!!! I also find myself going back to the good days of music....What happened? It is hard to find talent, musicians are created just to sell out for the record companies. No Talent, just Crap!!!!!!!
so true
If you stand in the middle of the road, you'll get run over.
There's a lot to be said about what is wrong with music now. But number one is the music corporations signing the artists. They buy out a lot of talent and shelve it for the few artists they wish to sell and advertise. It's such a shame!

There's no such thing as individuality these days. If you don't fit into a certain sound, there is no place for you in the music industry and the smaller companies cannot afford to advertise many of the better artists.

I can't believe what they put out as perceived "talent". Watching the reality show "Supernova" where Tommy Lee and crew pick out a lead singer, really blew my mind. I have seen many a bar room singer that surpassed what they put out on that stage.

The rest.... It's no wonder they're using songs from the 80's and earlier on most commercials. Not only are the baby boomers the main consumers but that was when music was really music not the **** they put out today!
because that would be enjoyable.. we cant have that, we need to be upset %26amp; mad %26amp; angrey all the time...

oh for the good old days
Nothing's Wrong w/ music, honey, i just changes every generation, you're probably listening to the wrong type of music.. .try listening to something good like Thousand Foot Krutch, Simple Plan, blink-182, Angels and Airwaves, etc ^_^
well, see the thing is that any music group or individual that actually cares about their **** doesnt really care about getting big. when they do reach stardom thats when their music goes to ****. thank god for sites like limewire and old record shops. access to **** from over seas is amazing. and me myself i like all differnt genres of music from oi to rap organ polka punk metal and opera. i think people just dont broaden their horizons enough

Why is black youth music and culture often more violent then white kids music and culture.?

Why is black youth music and culture often more violent then white kids music and culture.

People can be into any scen and you get idiot white kids tryign the gangster culture and black guys into metal.

But mostly seems all the hip hop, grime etc is into this scum

gang, hard man, thug, hgangster, wear trousers down butt as you actually support scumbag dirt who deseserves to be in prision with people wanting to intimidate each other and kill each other over theis looney tunes notion of dont dis me respect.

Im sorry real respect is gained from protecting others and acievement. not bing biggest thug.

Whilst more white music is about love and Hippy festivasl where everyone is nice and caring and soppy fluffy psitrance glow in the dark clothes psi trance music

With even heavey metal clubs with the violent imgagry , never actually turning that into rerality where their clubs are all peaceful and who cares if drinsk are spilt or somone bumps into you.

Why is black youth music and culture often more violent then white kids music and culture.?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

Unfortunatley I think It's an issue of social class/ecomony. The youth cultures associated with high levels of violence (including the music-based sub-cultures you mention here) are those that are popular in areas of high poverty/unemployment. The violence occurs when musicians, who are telling it how it really is, point out the unfairness of the situation. art imitates life, life imitates art and self fulfilling prophesy ensues.

Why is black youth music and culture often more violent then white kids music and culture.?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

what about rock and heavy metal music....

saying stuff like:

cut my wrist, blood, suicide, asphyxiation, screaming like a fag00t with no balls, pedophilia, rape, i heard one called fked with a knife, they cut words and pictures on them self's like a fag0t, talk about death and cannibalism.....

they are mentally Ill...

black crime is associated with poverty.....

music does not significantly effect crime rate
I am not sure
do you know 65% of the people that consume rap are white? So please.
are you f*cking kidding me???

with all crazy white music out there such as marilyn manson and osbourne and all the other crazy people recording albums with 0 talent, who are you to judge???
theres no such thing as black music. you meAN HIP HOP? ACTUALLY MORE RAPS SONGS NOW ARE ABOUT DANCING AND TALKING TO CHICKS.

but if the white kids you know are dumb enough to do it then thats ur problem
because its a stereotype that is forever planted in our brains
you obviously haven't heard of columbine.

EDIT:

"Whilste gangster rap fans would kill sokone over being looked at in a way they doid not like.

Big difference between years of abuse and going violent over nothing ."

Take a look at the people who were killed and injured by these poor bullied kids. Victims included a kid with cerebral palsy, one of the few black kids in the school, and plenty of other people who were complete rejects. Read up a little on the subject and you will realize these guys might have been bullied, but they were also bullies themselves. They were hypocrites, who shot and bullied the underdogs at their school.
When these "gangster" rappers are making music. They are usually doing that of which reflects their lives. Most of them are fabricating it to some degree. But the ones that talk about being homeless, and having to do things they aren't proud of, well thats their life. Just because its in a song doesn't mean it never happen.
It's a reflection of a view of reality. If you feel helpless a lot of time violence seems like your only resort. I think things are getting better though. People are sick of this and aren't buying it.
The answer is obvious - does any level headed, law abiding person need to ask this question?
um, doesn't heavy metal tell you to kill ya-self, haven't people committed suicide due to that music, yes all heavy metal doesn't advocate these things, same goes for rap, have you ever heard of ole school rap, ll cool j, will smith, montell jordan...lighten up...i do agree, hip hop is getting out of controll these days, what will these rappers say when the same boys listening to their music start to rape their daughters and kill their sons, we have to realize it's only gonna get worse...i'm not calling it on them but when you advocate this crap, it's not gonna help...
I agree with what you said... but hip hop and rap doesn't turn poeple into thugs, it is a product of poor ghettoes... it comes from there, it is a product of the violence, and it does promote violence....

In short, rap and hip hop is a product of violence, but rarely produces violence... unless two douche bags decide to kill each other over it... (cough... Tupac)...

But hey, don't school shooters tend to listen to angry metal music?

But still, rap is on its way out, sales of all rap and hip hop CDs are down 30% so cheer up!
"Whilst more white music is about love and Hippy festivasl where everyone is nice and caring and soppy fluffy psitrance glow in the dark clothes psi trance music"

That is the most untrue statement of the year and you know it. I haven't heard a song about Hippy festivals in my entire life, and I listen to almost every genre of music (except for certain country and that genre where they bite chickens heads off or something). Anyway, yes some rap is violent, but it is an extreme or hardcore form or music at times. There are a lot of rap songs that are only about a dance or a relationship or money. The same could go for a certain genre of music that is mainly produced by white people. There are genres of "black" music other than rap that are mostly about relationships and things like that (R%26amp;B, soul, etc.)
you are delusional~
It is violent because the people who create it are violent, and the people who listen to it are enamored with the violent criminal lifestyle it represents.

Black OR wigger.
because of the nature of the beast. look in the jails and see the population there. NO, SEE IT. And i believe you have genuine perceptions here. as to why, perhaps this is what they enjoy. YEAH, I KNOW.
You don't live in the real world if you really believe that.
its a stereotype, get it through your thick skull! What about hevay metal, rap etc, it influences, suicide, drugs and all that c rap with white people........

just admit you are plain jealous, maybe you haven't realise but many white people nowadays are trying to act black... HOW PATHETIC! What a pathetic set of race your people are!! Not all blacks are the same..... Arghh you people are driving me nuts, i know they are so good whites out there but seriously, im starting to hate whites on a whole now because of all these racist people on here!!
Hardcore rock nonviolent psssh you wish
The types who create and listen to this trash have a chip on their shoulders.

Perhaps if they put in the same effort at school and at work as white people, then they wouldnt have to resort to crime then blame it all on white people for "disadvantaging" them.
You know why you're questioning yourself because your putting way too much thought into it as skin color.

Notice how you said : "People can be into any scen and you get idiot white kids tryign the gangster culture and black guys into metal."

You're considering it a skin color controversy.When it's mostly a persons individuality.

Stereotypically,

Have you notice that the percentage of youths suicides, cutters are white.

Have you notice that the percentage of gang members are black and Hispanic.

Black,White,Hispanic,Asian etc..

It doesn't always has to do with ethnicity.

And since when is there a such thing as 'white music'.

There is really isn't a such thing as a caring loving hippy festival.

BUT there is a such thing as crazy wild mosh pits and the percentage of people that go are either white.

I feel as sorry,as your mind is set to stereotype. You feel that every black person is either a 'thug some violent person' and that's not the way one should think,be more open minded and exclude yourself from stereotypes.

I'm Hispanic myself and to your surprise I enjoy Trance,Classical and 80's music.

The reason why you're saying this is obviously because you've experienced bad things with certain black people, not every is the same.
Because they are tribal
cos the nigghas poppin evryones a ss innit like!!!! in the hood listenin to rap shat pingin off jiggy zay from cross the way, put a cap in his yall scrawny lil a ss innit fool. braaahp! G UNITTTT

in the hoood yall wanna scream your black sh1t all on me. yeh fool shaazah bammmm ooooooo ya look like a foooool
I listen to both rap and metal i am not a mad nutter from either one of them if music turns you in to a bad person then there was something there already you have to be a nutter before listening people use it as an excuse and yes some metal fans do cut themselves and others i have seen it from a mate first hand i don t blame the music he listened to i blame his state of mind while listening to it
it;s easier to thug than to get a job.

I mean I'm hispanic, and I listen to everything, but rap is one of my favorites, it just depends, people will just stereotype because whites and blacks fall into thoe separate categories most of the time.

sabrina rock orinated from Blacks....don't get it twisted...

Who cares?

Why do so many MUSLIMS BELIEVE MUSIC, ITSELF, IS WRONG?

Research it yourself, its facinating. Not every Muslim is against MUSIC, but a significant percentage ARE AGAINT MUSIC ITSELF... IT WASNT JUST THE TALIBAN, ITS ACROSS THE ENTIRE ISLAMIC WORLD. Western Muslims are less inclined to be against music.

Q%26amp;A - MUSIC IS HARAM (FORBIDDEN) http://www.jamaat.org/qa/music.html

Evidence that Music and Singing are Haram http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats...

閳ユ窔n this Ummah there will be punishments of earthquakes, showers of stones and deformity (transformation into animals); that will be when the people drink khamr, listen to female singers and play musical instruments.閳?(See al-Silsilah as-Saheehah, 2203; attributed to Ibn Abid-Dunya, Dhamm al-Malahi; the hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi, no. 2212). http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satel...

Why do so many MUSLIMS BELIEVE MUSIC, ITSELF, IS WRONG?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

i am a muslim

i listen to music

we have songs praising god

we have songs praising muhammad (pbuh)

you are a weird weird man.

Why do so many MUSLIMS BELIEVE MUSIC, ITSELF, IS WRONG?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

thats dumb. =/

they're dumb. =/
well i dont think its haram even though im muslim i dont know why so many people do. i think its cause it takes the attention away from God.
Because the Islamic religion is closed minded. Small, narrow...like Christianity, are afraid to think for themselves.
who are so many.visit a muslim country and ull see music the real question is why do u care
You are one strange little man. Maybe we should ship you over to the taliban so they can have their way with you.
look..not all music...music which have sexual meanings or attackin somebody is wrong...
up to now i did not read a clear view about this point

but as far as i realizr is that you hear music practice it with your head and then forget to practice quran or remmmbering god so much -as yo are supposed
Really? :-O I am surprised at all this stuff! eeeww
Theyre gay!
Wrong! Islam didn't forbid music, the sources u picked are wrong. By common sense, if Islam forbids music, y was it allowed to sing 4 the prophet (PBUH) when he came back from hijra? No it's not forbidden unless it was meant to spread immoralty or racism.
i dont think all music is haram.

i think its the bad music thats haram like songs about love and stuff like that. but ur intentions for listening to them also matter. im muslim and i love music, but always, my first priority is religion
i live in a western country and have mulsim firends who don't listen to music because its forbidden. i have mulsim friends who do listen to music. in the Holy Quran it deos not say that music is forbidden at all. In the Hadith which is a book of islamic stories, it states an islamic scholar once walking along a path came upon a man playing a sitar (guitar like instrument), he was fascinated by its sound and wished there were more. the musicians friends joined in and all began playing. the scholar was so drawn into the music that he fell into a drunken state and began to dance.

he then praised allah.

this story may vary but as i was told this a few years ago, but the general principle is intact.

so to those muslims who say music is forbiden, i ask, 'do you know better than the islamic scholar?'
I don't believe that at all. I know many muslims and all of them love music.
The statements saying Islam forbids music is incorrect. Those who say that are mistaken and should learn more about Islam, particularly in this case. What evidence that shows Islam approves music? al-Quran.

Have you ever heard a person reading al-Quran. What did you notice? The way he read it, that is, ryhthmic. Yes, song like. That was actually recommended by Muhammad (PBUH) himself as the way of reading al-Quran. Why? Why did he recommend that? Because music is originally a beautiful thing to be practised. Music is a good thing. It is known to provoke calm and peace, even patriotism and bravery in our heart. The problem today is, there are too many types of music that are just invented for nonsense fun. These types of music are naturally morally destructive, so that's why some of Islamic scholars claim that music is haram, they really specify to "morally destructive" types of music, not all kinds of music.
First of All Am sorry for All those who insulted u .then Am Muslim and not all muisc is forbidden those which have ugly words only.Muhammd (PBUH) loved Poetry Very Much .
Am Muslim and i listen to music. As a matter of fact my brother is a rapper. his album is coming out soon.
Music itself is NOT Haram, or forbidden as u say,

Why ? because there's a proved Hadith ( Statement from Prophet Mohamed ) say that he had asked one of his wives when she came back from a wedding if they had saluted the Bride with "Drums" that's means that IT IS Allowed,

But yes , many persons consider it not allowed , why? simply in Islam out main purpose is to worship God and To make benefit of every moment in our life as a MuslI'm i believe that im gonna be judged for every thing i have done,

So Listening to Music Considered a waste of time, and so as time is precious then Music is not preferred,

hope you got the idea,

And For me , I listen to all kind of music, western and eastern , Also There's a famous Islamic Singer Called : Sami Yusuf %26gt;%26gt; www.samiyusuf.com , Take a look at his site and his songs Video Clips, you would know what the Good Music Could be! :)
Music is not worng in ISLAM and who ever says that knows nothing about islam.

Sir I'm sorry to say that you dont fully comprehend what religion is all about, because it you did you'd be speaking about core issues not music. I thick people liek G'n'R, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Korn....ROCK but at the same time they're not a core issue in life. Ask them: this is entertainment and it's totally fine and has nothing to do with one's view of any religion

Is Country Music Evil?

I've got a new theory. I think that Country Music might be detrimental to our society. Most country fans seem to either have a malaise to them, or that brain-washed happy glaze to them. And from what little I've been forced to listen to, it doesn't seem to really be a music encouraging a true betterment of ones sensibilities.

So What do you think? Could our choice of music affect our outlook on life? If so, could Country Music be detrimental to our society?

Is Country Music Evil?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

No. I listened to it and actually GOT my car, and dog, and wife, and house BACK.

But seriously, no. Your statement assumes that people are brainwashed. It also assumes that "most" country fans are the way you described. Unless you are around ALL country fans, you cannot assume a correlation between just the ones you know and everybody else. No offense, but I've heard the "brainwashing" part so many times that it is just getting old and typical.

Plus, be a man, dude. Nobody FORCES you "listen" to anything. You might HEAR it. But it is ultimately YOUR choice rather or not you "listen". And yes, if you actually FOLLOW the music you listen to, it is VERY POSSIBLE that it affects society in a negative way. But then again, it isn't the music, it is whether or not (and how) you follow it. I mean, I'd like to "rock and roll all night and party ev....", uhhhh, no.

I like and PLAY all kinds of music, but I don't LIVE by it.

You know, there are a lot of people who wish to censor, or place blame, or close their mind to, or be intolerant of things just because it's cool NOT to like them. I honestly think that THOSE people are probably the ones who are "brainwashed".

Again, no offense, but you asked.

Peace and axle grease

Jon

Is Country Music Evil?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

Thanks, j_doggie_dogg. I appreciate it. Report It

no it speaks from hte heart listen to we can relate byebye baby
no!because i listen to and always get straight A's never B's C's and F's.
I hardly think so.
I don't have time to worry about that now, ma girlfriend done cheated on me, my dog died and ma pickup got a flat tar.
Yes very EVIL
I think you have too much time on your hands if you are pondering inane queries such as this.

I am a huge country fan, yet I have a job, a college degree, an expansive vocabulary, a house and a well-adjusted family.

So, no, country music is not evil. A person's choice is his right as a citizen.
yes i believe country music is evil.

whenever i am forced to listen to it every day,

i get really anooyed and agry,

it makes me want to kill!
I bet you listen to hard core rock %26amp; I think it's affected your out look on life. Country is awesome.
No I disagree, I would rather have a person with a brain-washed happy glaze to them, than have a gun toating "gangsta" running down the town.
if you play country music backwards, you get your dog back, get your car back, get your wife back....
I think that all people no matter what type of music they listen to have the same opinion about one genre of music. Myself I am a punk rocker, hard rocker, well just a rocker. But if you wanted to classify one type of music as evil you would have tol ook at the news headlines. Do you see anyone out there saying "country music made me do it?" No most of the kids today that commit crimes or do evil things are some form of rockers... No music is evil its all expression. People are the ones who make inanimate objects evil or distateful...

I like your approach and your opinion is just fine, but thats what i think
It affect the ones that believe every word out of the persons mouth. So if a singer say I jumped off the building and landed on my feet would you believe it? Its all in the words.
country music before 1980 is ok to listen to. anything past 80 is bad lite rock and is for lame kiss fans.

of course music affects our outlook on life. enjoying music, even dark grindcore,is pleasing to a fan of that genre...and when something is pleasing to the mind it produces

endorphins
Country is like a lot of other folk-based music. There isn't much there for those of us who are a bit more philosophical, but it's ideal for the listener who doesn't want a complicated message with complicated music. Too simple for my tastes, but that doesn't make it bad. Most listeners can't make any sense of jazz, but I like it best, so it's a matter of perspective.
what? you object to people being happy and laid back?

What do you do for relaxation?

(I listen to classical music, that tends to make folks happy and relaxed too. Is that evil too?)
my mom and dad listen to all those old country songs and they say music today isn't the same as it was yesterday so i agree with you somewhat but i could'nt say a bad thing about shania twain 'cause i love her music.oh and the dixie chicks are great too.
It's not evil, it just sucks.
when u really think about it, some country music is just as bad as some rap/rnb and pop. But none of it is "evil". When u say evil u make it sound possessed.
You bet it is. People that listen to country music seem to evolve into assholes.
Wow... interesting theory, but flawed on several counts...

1) the subjects, styles, and songs in country music vary widely and can not be categorized to elicit the same emotional responses across the board

2) you are giving too much credit to one factor (music) to influence society, when music only plays one part of many

3) your theory states that listeners of certain types of music can be 'brain-washed', which begs the question whether other music can brain wash listeners as well, which would lend credibility to theories such as "listeners of heavy metal are homicidal/suicidal, etc."

4) your hypothesis implies that any type of music can encourage "a betterment of one's sensibilities", however, I have not experienced that to be true, (with the possible exception of classical music, which is said to increase mental ability)

5) I am a country music listener, as well as other genres, and I do not have a malaise (defined as a sense of depression or bodily discomfort), nor am I brain-washed.

However, if I have a happy glaze, it may be because I am enjoying a good song.
no but that awful crap should be illegal
hell yeah !its evil and it sucks too.
No It calms the soul down and Every type of music came from country music
Wouldn't say its eveil but find it can make ya darn melancholy...those cowboy types sure seem to have a hard life of it all AND (in my opinion) they all sound the bleeding same...BUT..have to admit..Dolly Parton has a very sweet voice and doesn't take herself too seriously like most of em do...

So - to sum up...not Evil but can be nasty!!
"When you say somethin' bad about country music... well that's like sayin' somethin' bad about my mama... and thems fightin' words!"

-------------Dolly Parton

It totally depends on which artists you listen to. Artists like Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and The Dixie Chicks are very progressive thinking and open minded people and that really comes out in their lyrics, so I would not be so quick to throw out the entire genre... There was a time that country music was the soul of blue collar democracy and the middle class... that time has passed but there is still some good stuff going on in the folk/country scene. You just have to dig a little deeper now because conservative crap spewers like FOX News try to keep us from knowing about the cool artists.
I think it makes people depressed! They are the reason there are so many people on Prozac, lithium, ect, ect. There music is very depressing and I personally can not stand it! And maybe our music does have a larger effect on us then we think.
nooooooooo!!!!!!!!! i luv country music if u think it is evil u must b cause its speaks fronm the heart and tells the truth
NOOO WAAAAY! COUNTRY MUSIC IS SOME OF THE BEST KINDS OF MUSIC!

Music these days!!!!?

Music program that can cut the words out but keep the instrumental music?

Me and a few friends for a school project are singing to a well-known song. We don't want to American Idol it, by acapella-ing (I don't know how to spell that) so we were wondering if there was a program that we can feed the song into and then be able to splice out the words. Then we could just put the remaining instrumental music onto a CD so that we would have background music while we were singing.

And does anyone know if a program like this is offered for free?

Music program that can cut the words out but keep the instrumental music?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

Not possible. What you're looking for is called a "lyric remover", and its effienciency is usually quite HORRIBLE. After you remove the lyric, the background music sounds like it came through a tin cup.

Music System or Home Theater?

Hi! I need some advice whether should i purchase a Music System or a Home theater System? And what is the difference between both of them? The one I like is panasonic SC-VK960 iis a music system which can be used as home theater as it has 5 speakers and 2 sub woofers. Will there be any difference in surround sound within a home theater and a Music System?

Music System or Home Theater?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

Hi.When you begin looking for a new Audio/Video system for your home ,there are two basic questions to ask yourself.

One,am i a music listener or a movie watcher ? If you listen to more music ,but like to watch an occasional movie.then you might want to consider a high performance stereo system. If you have no real interest in the video aspect, then a surround sound system is probably not for you.

If you want a system for movies, then the second question to ask is what is the size of your room. The size and layout of your room will determine the type and size of equipment that is best for you.

I hope this information will help you to decide if you want a Music System or a Home Theater.

Music System or Home Theater?

I'm not sure how to answer you questions but I would choose Home Theater. You get to watch moves and TV with great sound.
home theater, it will play movies in dolby or dts and it will play music also.

most computers have Sound Cards, which usually have a "Line-In" input

When you have the right cord for this line-in input you can put it into the "Headphone" jack of your tape player or "line out" jack,

and if you have a sound recording program like "Sound Recorder"

it will capture the sound as a .wav file, then you need a program that makes .wav into .mp3

you can get the right cord at Radio shack, i'm not sure what kind of tape player or computer you have so I can't really help you further

you need some kind of cassette player with ( out put ) and a CD player with ( input ) and the cables that will work for both, or cables for the input in your computer and save there and than burn to cd.

That is a hard question to answer. Look for a store in your town or city that could do that because the equipment costs a lot.
I have been using a program called Audacity to transfer some out of print vinyl on to CD. It has some excellent features specifically designed to remove pops and clicks, background noise, and will let you save multiple tracks from a single capture in individual files.

Other than the program all you need is a computer with a sound card, a cassette player, and the proper cable to hook the two up.

Here is a link to the free Audacity software:

well, you'd have to have an input on your sound card, the cables to hook your cassette machine to the sound card (1/8" stereo plug to two rca plugs) , recording software, and a whole lot of time, after you record the tapes to the computer you can convert them to mp3 i use audacity ( recording software ) to record to the hdd

Did you unzip the files? Make sure you do that first (right click and choose extract if you have WinXP, otherwise you'll need to download a program like WinRAR from www.download.com). If you did that and you still can't open the PDF, try upgrading your version of adobe reader (www.adobe.com). If it still doesn't work, open Adobe Reader first, then open the file from there (File %26gt; Open).

Any music store will have what you're looking for. Music books like that can be anywhere from $7 to $20 dollars, but its worth it, because you can see your progress as the pieces in the books get harder and harder. They'll also give you advice on technique, which is better to learn sooner then later!

Music for iPod with a monthly subscription?

I was wondering if their was a music service that provided music that I could downloadn and put on my iPod, that I would just have to pay a monthly fee and thats it, and not have to pay per song also. I have tried iTunes and don't want to pay per song, b/c I like music and that would get exspensive.

Music for iPod with a monthly subscription?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

The answer is that Apple has effectively locked out every music service for use with the iPod. And all the music services lock out the iPod in return. The source of this conflict comes down to Microsoft versus Apple. The technology involved in music service subscriptions uses Microsoft's Digital Rights Management, which is not supported on the iPod. And iTunes Music Store, uses FairPlay, their own proprietary copy protection. The only solution is a collaboration between the two.

People's music interest?

why do people always have to talk sh!t about other peoples music interest, can't we all just get along and if you dont like a certain music genre then thats fine, you like what you like and people needs to stop say oh thats kind of music is not music or whatever

but i guess thats just the way it is on yahoo answers, i'm not b!tchin about it its just that that all i see most of the time.

People's music interest?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

I agree, personally I don't care about what people think about the music that I like-I like songs from different genres of music, from different parts of the world. People are like this everywhere not only on yahoo answers even in real life; for example a friend of mine asked me why do I like Depeche Mode because he doesn't like them and he doesn't understand my preference. There is a saying in my country that goes like this: "TASTES ARE NOT TALKED ", I'm sorry but that is the best translation I can give hope you understand what I mean.

People's music interest?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

Its because they are really lame! Lol.
That's a question?

You need to relax.Report them if you think it's serious.Sometimes people only want to stick to their own music interests because they think it's the best, and other kinds of music are rubbish.

For some reason,it's difficult for stubborn people to get along,it's something you can't change.Just accept it even though it makes your blood boil.

Why has music become image?

I just can't understand how something that is so reliant on sound has become more associated with vision than hearing. I don't know why people keep buying into this image based manufactured music. Music companies have got it down to a formula of how to produce music and it's all about image and how people see the artist.

Do people just not care anymore about the music itself? Or is musical talent and vision so scarce that record companies have to resort to building up image? Am I the only one seeing this?

Why has music become image?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

1. Videos: Brittany Spears and NSync figured out a long time ago that if your stuff is on TRL then you go platinum overnight.

2. People with bad taste in music buy lots of it.

3. But you should understand that just because somone makes a music video doesnt mean that they are "fake" or "manufactured". Alot of people i notice only like small indy artist just because they havent gone platinum and they arent on TRL or the radio. Indy music fans tend to be prejudicial and judgemental by automatically not liking an artist just because they are on a major label or on MTV.

4. Dont worry about the overnight pop/rock/rap/country sensations who have gone triple platinum in like 2 weeks. I have noticed that the artists who blow up real fast also fizzle out real fast. But the truly self made talented artists struggle in the begining and then they finally start to flourish and get mainstream recognition and they wind up being around for 10- 20 years (see:Greenday).

Why has music become image?

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

I know how you feel. You have to dig deep sometimes to find good music. That's why I use radio stations on the internet so that I can actually listen to music, and find stuff that I like, instead of just seeing it on TV, or on Yahoo. Pandora is a good one that has good quality, and is good for discovering music that you will like. It's also good, because most of it that I listen to is indie, and I've never seen half the bands they put on there, so thier image can't really affect how I feel about them.
I believe it to be that the consumer has become ignorant and lazy. They want people to think for them and tell them what to buy. Too much intake of flouride through water it is thought.
YOU PREACH IT.I REMEMBER WHEN YOU COULD BE THE HOMELIEST LOOKING BAND BUT IF YOU COULD PLAY AND SELL MUSIC COMPANIES WERE ALL OVER YOU.LOOK AT LEMMY OF MOTORHEAD.IT'S ALL COOKIE CUTTER BANDS

Music Before the 90s?

I like all types of music, but I mainly listen to hard rock and metal. The more I've listened to music, the more I've found that MUSIC BEFORE THE 90S SUCKS! No one seems to agree with me. Do any metal heads out there agree that 80s metal sounds gay? When I think of metal, I think of heavy guitar, drums, and screaming. I don't want to hear guys singing. Don't go lecturing me on how I need to listen to Metallica or Pandera. That's gay metal. Anyone agree?

PEACE
No.

I mean, I don't listen to metal.

But for one thing, the 60s/70s were absolutely seminal to rock music.

The Beatles, The Who, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, The Ramones. The list is super long.

And some of my favorite bands are from the 80s: The Cure, The Smiths, The Jesus %26amp; Mary Chain, The Dead Kennedys, Dire Straits. Etc.

So, unless the only thing you like is Anthrax or something, you would have to be kind of crazy to think that.

Don't forget today's music owes so much to those groundbreakers then.
I agree. I grew up wit AC/DC and others from the 70s. When the 80s arrived, the so-called metal band suddenly started wearing makeup (and I don't mean like kiss!) and foofing their hair all big. They looked like little girls prancing around the stage! ick. I never found any of them interesting or attractive. The 90s were not much better.

Who agrees that Rap music and Hip Hop is corrupting todays youth and society while also damaging the

reputation of a certaing ethnic group. Yes, it is exactly this type of music that spawns racism. This music undermines and degrades women, promotes drugs, and violence. How can people allow their children to listen to this music? It is sad that because of the type of ignorance that this music promotes, it also promotes racism. That because of some idiots who decide to release this, others start assuming that most African Americans are like that. This music is just garbage in general. Doesn't anyone else see anything wrong with it?

Who agrees that Rap music and Hip Hop is corrupting todays youth and society while also damaging the.....?

-(Myspace music www.myspace.com)

Its a smoldering heap of infectious, reeking garbage...

But I think it might be unfair to lay blame for social corruption on it... I think its like a festering boil on the flesh, the RESULT of sickness rather than the cause.

Our real sickness is in religion and the Media... And a lack of real leadership. I'm not talking about Bush, (though he IS a prime example of poor leadership,) I'm talking about us leading ourselves. If a person had any self esteem at all, would they want to listen to a guy talk about "macking ho's" or "keepin it real," (like that means anything to them,) to previously-used music?

I love how "rap-artists" talk about originality, and how they "give props to God," and then mutilate a 20 year old classic song so they can talk about how fat their baby's momma's butt is... 'Sh!t makes me ill...

-(Myspace.com graphics myspace.com)

i'm a teen and i think so
uhh i like country music
Yeah, but you might have posted this in 1998... and saved the World. (This is old news...) Ever since 2LiveCrew "popped, popped, popped that guchi baby" and record execs SAW that it sold, and that STREET language %26amp; stolen beats would translate into $$$$ without needing musicians... gangsta rap was born.

Rap's been around for 30+ years, by the way.. and it wasn't until it went mainstream -- meaning sold/distributed by white record execs (at first)... that it became the degenerative nonsense of stereotypes, morons, hoochie mommas, and you got a whole lexicon of Street Slang. Long WAY from "getting jiggy wit it", aren't we?

Obama today on the IOWA campaign trail: "that's wut I'M talking ABOUT!!!"... (now, did he learn this phrase at his white grandparents place in Hawaii, where he grew up as Barry? in college? did Oprah tell him the deal-io?) this is a Presidential candidate trying to sound Hip by using some Hop?

It's on Disney, everywhere and ads for KIDS. It's in the headlines for Cell Phones ("Where you at?")... it's the spine of MTV of white kids wearing tattoos and acting gangsta straight from the streets of "the OC"... it's beyond laughable. So, you have white kids creating/making money on Grand Theft Auto... games. Tommy Hilfiger MADE himself multi-millions as many other designers, on street wear.. etc. (don't be a hater!)... Listen, ESPN will tell you that players just "got JACKed up!!" and "yo, lookit dat play, yo!"... so, this is far and away more persasive than you'd ever know. It's part of America now. Don't be a hater!

Especially when the most STREET acts, like "Fiddy" goes straight to the hills of New Jersey suburbia, once they "get bank" -- and cares less than 50-cents about streets he's still pretending he's from... ETC. (it ain't just him, homey).
I agree that you are a cranky old bat.
i hear you. i hate rap music. i stick with the oldies. you can't listen to a modern music station without getting that crap.
Sorry for your opinion....that is all I listen to!
I agree.
yes there is EVERYTHING wrong with it, i agree with you completely.

rap music is nothing but trash.
omigod! its just freakin music. just like video games. people do the things they do cuz its wut they want to do not wut some song or game told them to do.

hell to rap and hip hop.......rock is so much better.......no violence, just flat-out extreme!!!!
I somewhat agree. Some of it's okay, but yes, some of it has no meaning and does show, "yeah, it's okay to be in a gang and kick women if they don't go down!" XD
I agree that rappers are corrupting youth and damaging society.
Aside from the racism aspect, people were saying the same things about rock music forty years ago.
I AGREE.... I THINK MOST IF NOT ALL THE NEW POP-HIP-HOP - RAP - R%26amp;B IS.....GARBAGE...I LIVE IN THE CHICAGO AREA AND THE STATIONS HERE PLAY IT OUT NOT MUCH IS SENSORED ANYMORE!

WHAT CAN WE DO THOUGH??!
hell yeah i agree i hate the rappers of today.basically i like only tupac and biggie smalls they don't talk about sex money drugs like todays rappers they talk about life.
people like what they like and no matter how much you try you cant change how they feel. i dont personally like it and i think its annoying that fuse and everyotr rock station on the radio is being invaded .
it can be annoying..though music is music.. kids listen to it so what, if you feel strongly about it tell your kids how you feel then let them decide...
definitely.

what is "yo" supposed to mean, anyway?

"dawg?" what?!?
people from all races are contributing to the corruption of the nation's youth. it's not just music either. t.v. and movies and music ... if you look at every single thing that is corrupting children, it kind of evens out between races and genders, for the most part.
i think rap is funny. most of it reenforces stereotypes that black people find offensive if relized by people not of their race.

i think its ignorant and blind.

false rolemodels for kids.
What kind of Rap are you listening too? There are a lot of great Rap songs out there that are positive and just awesome to jam to. Try some Tupac or DMX.

Example:

Lord Give Me A Sign by DMX

Lord Give me a Sign!

I really need to talk to you Lord

Since the last time we talked the walk has been hard

Now I know you havent left me

But I feel like im alone

Im a big boy now but im still not grown

And Im still goin threw it

Pain and the hurt

Soaking up trouble like rain in the dirt

And I know!

Only I can stop the rain

Wit just the mention of my saviors name

IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

Devil I rebuke you for what I go threw

And tryin make me do what I used to

But all that stops right here

As long as the Lords in my life I will have no fear

I will know no pain from the light to the dark

I will show no shame spit it right from the heart

Cuz its right from the start

But you held me down

And Aaint nothin they can tell me now

Lord give me a sign!

Let me know whats on your mind

Let me know what im gone find

Its all the time

Show me how to teach the mind

Show me how to reach the blind

Lord give me a sign!

Show me what I gots to do

To bring me closer to you

Cuz im gonna go through

What ever you want me to

Just let me know what to do

Lord give me a sign!

Please show me sometin

Im tired of talkin to him

Knowin he frontin

Cryin bout life aint nuttin

But you either be the one mad cuz you trapped, or the one huntin

Trapped in your own mind waitin on the Lord

Or huntin wit the word that cuts like a sword

The spoken word is stronger than the strongest man

Carries the whole world like the strongest hand

Through the trials and tribulations you neva let us down

JESUS!

I know your here with us now

JESUS!

I know your still wit us now

Keep it real wit us now

I wanna feel show me how

Let me take your hand, guide me

Ill walk slow but stay right beside me

Devil's tryna find me

Hide me, hold up I take that back

Protect me and give me the strength to fight back!

Life or death

Live or die

I will never live a lie

Im goin there cuz I try

I wont quit until I die

Im gone make it wrong or right

Make it through the darkest night

When the morning comes you'll see

All I have is God in me

(Lord give me a sign!)
why are your blaming it all rap %26amp; hip hop? its all different kinds of music, and bands, like fall out boy,%26amp; nickelback. neither of those are rap or hip hop. and no. i dont think its the music thats corrupting teens. it think its the house hold they were brought up in. im 16, and listen to this music all the time. but i dont smoke or drink, or think all african americans act poorly. im not racist or ignorant either. teens dont act the way they do because thats how all the famous people do ( i dont know why adults get that into there head.) they do it cause it makes them think there in control. i think you should also listen to more rap and hip hop besides the ones you have, because a lot of them actually do have a meaning.
I agree. The music teaches these kids to do the same self destructive and anti social behavior that is bad for this country. It's like a vicious circle.
not all of them are bad and shut up.
"well..... **** happens"
Everything you said is so politically incorrect.. but I couldn't agree more. Rap music promotes violence, materialism, misogyny, and living a 'thug' life style. It's a dreadful influence on kids, and teaches them a twisted set of values.
GOD BLESS YOU. I have been saying that for years. I have been encouraging kids to listen to other types of music... but nothing works. Kids are kids.

To be honest, I believe that if you listen to a song where someone kills a cop, and that makes you want to kill a cop, there's something wrong with you, not the song.

That being said, I still disagree with what the music stands for.
I hate it too. Rock music is much better. I don't see how so many people prefer Rap over Rock.
I do! It must be the crappiest type of music around...if you can even call it that. I don't see how someone talking and cussing non-stop can be considered music. Damn it! They even made drug music sound terrible. Bring back Janis Joplin, Zeppelin, The Doors and Hendrix. The world needs real music.

Man, real music died many years ago...how sad...

Peace.
