IPod Touch help - Restoring and Music Problems.?

I recently added music to my iPod touch, and the other day I wanted to add more.

I plugged my iPod in, and the screen came up in iTunes, with Summary, Music, Movies etc, but down the bottom in the 'capacity bar' it said that I have no music, and everything on my iPod was classified as 'Other.' So I synced all my music again, and it finally said that I had music on it.

However today, I plugged my iPod in again, and the same problem happened again, with the music I put on the other day classified as 'Other' aswell.

I tried to restore the Factory Settings on my iPod, and it downloads 1.1.3 (as I have already bought it), then extracts the software, and says 'preparing iPod for restore.'

But it did not let me restore, and an error message comes up, saying:

The iPod "ben's ipod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1602).

Help?!
